This is a seasonal contract role at Black Rocket, offered across various US regions. What You’ll Actually Do
• Instruct: Directly engage and guide children aged 6-14 in technology-focused summer programs.
• Facilitate: Deliver Black Rocket’s distinct curriculum emphasizing creativity, self-empowerment, and critical thinking.
• Support: Assist students with hands-on learning and troubleshoot technical challenges related to digital arts, coding, and game design.
• Prepare: Complete comprehensive online training modules prior to program commencement to ensure instructional readiness.
• Inspire: Cultivate a fun and engaging learning environment where students can explore and develop their unique talents in technology.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career college students (18+ years old) studying education, computer science, digital arts, or information technology are encouraged to apply. No formal teaching experience is required.
• Experience: Preferred experience working with children in either formal (educational setting) or informal (babysitting, volunteering, coaching, tutoring) capacities.
• Skills: Strong aptitude for technology and digital arts, including skills in areas like 3D modeling, coding (Python, Javascript, Lua), game creation, animation, robotics, video editing, or significant knowledge of Minecraft/Roblox; effective troubleshooting skills for technical and digital arts platforms; a genuine love for working with children and a desire to inspire their learning journey.
• Bonus: Reliable transportation and residence within driving distance of a Black Rocket partner region; availability to work a minimum of 4 weeks, Monday through Friday, during the summer season; ability to start online training in May at your own pace.
