The Engineer/Maintenance Technician directly contributes to the comfort and satisfaction of both guests and staff through diligent care of all hotel equipment and systems.

The TL;DR

• Team: Reports to the Director of Engineering/Chief Engineer
• Mission: Ensure the comfort and satisfaction of guests and staff by repairing and maintaining all hotel equipment and systems.

What You’ll Actually Do
• System Maintenance: Take ownership of the repair and maintenance of all hotel equipment and systems, directly contributing to the continuous comfort and satisfaction of our guests and staff.
• Issue Resolution: Effectively troubleshoot and competently repair a wide range of common mechanical, electrical, and plumbing problems throughout the hotel property.
• Preventative Care: Proactively provide preventive maintenance when appropriate, ensuring the longevity and optimal function of critical hotel assets and minimizing potential disruptions.
• Safety Compliance: Diligently report any identified safety hazards, actively following up on corrections, and assisting in the collective effort to provide a safe work environment for everyone.
• Maintenance Reporting: Consistently identify and promptly report any areas across the property that require repair, including all potential safety concerns, ensuring timely action is taken.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory. Candidates must possess the ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language at a level sufficient for effective communication with clients, members, guests, and staff. Basic job knowledge of building maintenance, inspection processes, and reporting maintenance discrepancies is essential.
• Experience: A minimum of 2 years of dedicated hotel engineering or maintenance experience is required. This must be complemented by general building engineering/maintenance experience, including at least 1 year of broader engineering and maintenance roles.
• Skills: Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair a majority of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing problems. Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and proper labeling procedures is necessary. Must be capable of performing duties independently and safely accessing high areas using a ladder. A valid driver’s license is also required.
• Bonus: Prior experience within the hospitality industry is considered a desirable qualification for this role.
