Job Summary

As an Engineer/Maintenance team member, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining all hotel equipment and systems to ensure the comfort and satisfaction of our guests and staff, as directed by their needs.

Education & Experience Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Must possess the ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language at a level sufficient to communicate effectively with clients, members, guests, and staff.
• Training and Experience: 2+ years of hotel engineering/maintenance experience is required, along with general building engineering/maintenance experience.
• Job Knowledge: Basic knowledge of building maintenance and inspection, including the reporting of maintenance discrepancies.
• General Experience: 1+ years of general engineering and maintenance experience required.
• Hospitality Experience: Desired.

Key Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and split shifts as required.
• Consistently arrive to work on time.
• Arrive in proper uniform – crisp, clean, and in good repair.
• Maintain clean hair in a becoming style (management has final approval).
• Attend all required training, safety courses, office, and departmental meetings.
• Report any safety hazards, follow up on corrections, and assist in providing a safe work environment.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair most mechanical, electrical, and plumbing problems.
• Interact positively with guests and fellow employees.
• Perform duties independently when appropriate.
• Knowledgeable of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and the information they provide, including proper labeling procedures.
• Provide preventive maintenance when appropriate.
• Ability to access high areas utilizing a ladder.
• Follow all company safety rules/guidelines and work in a safe manner.
• Report any areas that need repair, including safety concerns.
• Perform and follow up on any other duties as assigned by the Director of Engineering/Chief Engineer.

Physical and Other Job Requirements

• Must be able to lift, carry, and move 50 pounds.
• Able to work outside in all weather conditions for long periods of time.
• Ability to move about the property extensively.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Schedule

Varied scheduling to include weekends, evenings, and holidays.
