Engineering Intern | Tyonek

The Tone:
This is an internship at Tyonek, located in-person. At Tyonek, you will contribute to the defense of our nation by engaging in both hardware and software design initiatives. The company seeks highly motivated engineering students who possess a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and excellent troubleshooting skills to help advance critical systems.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Type: Full-time (40 hours per week)
• Location: In-person

• Team: Reports directly to a supervisor or manager
• Mission: Engage in hardware and software design to resolve technical issues and contribute to national defense.
• Tech Stack: C, C++, Java

What You’ll Actually Do
• Test Procedures: Create, update, maintain, and execute test procedures for various systems.
• Data Documentation: Document all process steps and thoroughly record testing data.
• Design Collaboration: Collaborate closely with engineers on hardware and test software design initiatives.
• Technical Resolution: Engage in problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting activities to resolve technical issues.
• Project Support: Perform a diverse range of tasks as required by projects.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently a 3rd or 4th-year student pursuing a degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering, with an expected graduation in 2023 or 2024. A High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Experience: Experience with testing Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) and other electronic systems. Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers, and Multi-meters.
• Skills: Proficiency in C programming. Possess a creative mind for troubleshooting, finding, and resolving complex problems. Good working knowledge of MS Office software. Must be a US citizen.
• Bonus: Experience with C++ and Java.
