Summer Internship | Amentum

The Tone:
This is an internship at Amentum, located in Kennedy Space Center, FL. Amentum is dedicated to launching people to the Moon and Mars, working to transform NASA’s vision into reality. As an intern, you will contribute to the management and implementation of ground systems, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, directly supporting critical space exploration programs. This role is a unique opportunity to be part of a team making history today.

The TL;DR

• Pay: $40000–$42000 yearly
• Mission: Contribute to real engineering and technical tasks in direct support of NASA’s space exploration programs, including the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and Space Launch System.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Contribute: Support real engineering and technical tasks in direct support of the NASA customer under the Consolidated Operations, Management, Engineering & Test (COMET) contract.
• Collaborate: Work effectively and cooperatively within both individual and team environments to achieve project goals.
• Coordinate: Align work between multiple project disciplines to ensure seamless execution.
• Prioritize: Manage and prioritize multiple projects without missing deadlines or sacrificing accuracy.
• Communicate: Accurately convey ideas and information through both writing and verbal communication with various stakeholders.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science (BS) or Master of Science (MS) program at an accredited college or university, qualified as a current or rising Junior or Senior student. Coursework must be completed in one of the following technical/engineering degree programs: Aerospace Engineering, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Fluids Engineering, Human Factors Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Occupational Safety/Industrial Hygiene, Project Management, Software Engineering, Technical Writing, Quality Engineering, or Finance/Business. A GPA of 3.0 or higher is required, and proof of US Citizenship or Green card holder status is necessary if offered a position.
• Experience: Relevant academic coursework and project experience gained from a qualifying BS or MS program, preparing you to contribute to engineering and technical tasks.
• Skills: Excellent communication, presentation, and customer interface skills; ability to work effectively and cooperatively in both individual and team environments; capability to coordinate work between multiple project disciplines; strong organizational skills to manage and prioritize multiple projects without missing deadlines or sacrificing accuracy; and self-motivation with the initiative to work independently or with minimal supervision.
