About Us: Hazeltine Nurseries
Hazeltine Nurseries offers unique and customized landscape designs. We have a beautiful 90-acre nursery filled with top-quality plants suitable for various environments. Our landscape and hardscape services include irrigation systems, pavers, fountains, gazebos, fencing, pools, and lighting. We use only the best materials and installation techniques to ensure high-quality results.
Job Summary
The CAD Technician supports the design team by preparing accurate technical drawings, layouts, and plans using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software. This role assists designers, engineers, and project managers by converting concepts, sketches, and specifications into detailed drawings used for planning, construction, and installation. The CAD Technician ensures all drawings meet company standards, project requirements, and industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and modify detailed CAD drawings, layouts, and plans based on design team specifications.
- Convert sketches, field notes, and verbal instructions into technical drawings.
- Maintain and update drawing files, revisions, and project documentation.
- Ensure drawings comply with company standards, industry regulations, and project specifications.
- Coordinate with designers, engineers, and project managers to ensure accuracy and completeness of drawings.
- Assist with site measurements, data collection, and as-built drawings when required.
- Maintain organized digital drawing files and project records.
- Review drawings for errors or inconsistencies before final submission.
- Support the design team with additional technical documentation as needed.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience using CAD software (AutoCAD or similar).
- Experience working with design, construction, landscape, or engineering drawings preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- LandFX / Land FX Irrigation
- RainFX
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to occasionally visit job sites for measurements or verification.
- Ability to work in hot, cold, and wet conditions when on job sites.
