Retail Associate | Five Below

The Tone:

The TL;DR
• Role: Hourly
• Pay: $14 hourly
• Mission: To actively contribute to Five Below’s unique, fun-filled shopping experience by warmly greeting customers, expertly addressing their needs, resolving concerns, and supporting overall store success.
• Tech Stack: cash registers, hand-held and mobile devices

What You’ll Actually Do
• Customer Engagement: Greet and assist customers promptly, managing multiple interactions efficiently to provide a welcoming and helpful experience.
• Sales & Service Guidance: Understand customer needs by sharing product knowledge, answering questions, directing them to merchandise, offering recommendations, engaging in suggestive selling, and informing them of current store events and promotions.
• Issue Resolution: Address customer concerns by utilizing product knowledge to offer alternative solutions, aiming to turn returns into exchanges whenever possible.
• Operational Communication: Regularly inform management about merchandise restocking needs, service requirements, and any customer feedback in a timely manner.
• Team Support: Collaborate with the store team to achieve overall company and store objectives, contributing to a positive and productive work environment.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Must be at least 16 years old.
• Experience: Availability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, and weekends, and a willingness to learn procedural knowledge through on-the-job training.
• Skills:
1. Good communication skills with the ability to actively engage with customers.
2. Capability to handle customer interactions and potential issues courteously and professionally.
3. Basic information-gathering skills to solve problems.
4. Comfort with or willingness to learn retail technology, such as cash registers, hand-held, and mobile devices.
