The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Enlighten, located in Columbia, MD. Enlighten specializes in developing and deploying big data solutions, leveraging expertise in cloud-based services, software and systems engineering, cyber capabilities, and data science. This role is crucial for implementing foundational infrastructure, automating deployment processes, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of our services. The position offers a hybrid work approach, blending in-person collaboration with the flexibility of remote work.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Cloud Infrastructure: Support the development and deployment of cloud infrastructure in AWS, with a focus on EKS.
• Edge Infrastructure: Support the development and deployment of non-cloud (Edge) infrastructure for on-premise and portable equipment.
• Automation & Scalability: Automate deployment processes to ensure the reliability and scalability of services.
• System Management: Manage and maintain Kubernetes containers and cloud infrastructure on AWS.
• System Monitoring: Monitor and troubleshoot production systems, resolving issues as necessary to maintain performance.

The Must-Haves
• Background: An entry-level to junior career level with U.S. citizenship required for security clearance processing, which is a must-have for the role. This includes a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 0 years of experience, or a High School Diploma with 6 years of relevant experience.
• Experience: At least 2 years of experience in DevOps Engineering or Software Development (or equivalent as specified above). Strong working knowledge of AWS services and their application to infrastructure deployment and management. Experience with application, container, and OS deployment, scaling, and management.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of AWS services including EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, and Lambda. Proficient knowledge of Linux, encompassing system administration and troubleshooting. Proficiency in configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible, and the ability to develop in languages like Python, Bash, or Go. DoD 8570 compliance (e.g., Security+) must be active or obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Bonus: A current Secret level or above U.S. Government clearance; experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Accumulo, Spark, Kafka, or ElasticSearch; and familiarity with K9s, AWS CLI, SNS, SQS, and Diode.
