Civil Engineer – Bellevue, Washington
Job Summary
Langan is seeking a motivated Civil Engineer to join our team in Bellevue, Washington. This role is pivotal in assisting with the planning, design, and permitting of various civil engineering, land development, and infrastructure projects. You will gain practical experience in site/civil engineering design for a wide range of projects, including mixed-use developments, shopping centers, residential areas, higher education facilities, federal projects, and other exciting land development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the planning, design, and permitting of civil engineering, land development, and infrastructure projects.
- Contribute to the preparation and modification of engineering documents, including reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates, and design plans, utilizing engineering and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
- Effectively interpret and utilize reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, test data, and aerial photographs to analyze soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and topographical and geologic data, assessing their impact on project planning and design.
- Propose and recommend innovative approaches and ideas to continuously enhance efficiency and service delivery.
- Apply fundamental knowledge and techniques of engineering and advanced mathematics to project tasks.
- Collaborate effectively with team members on project tasks and assignments.
- Perform other duties as requested to support project objectives.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Experience: 0-2 years of relevant work experience.
- Academic Standing: Minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Certifications (Preferred): EIT Certification or current registration for the FE exam.
- Prior Experience (Preferred): Relevant internship or professional experience in site/civil design, encompassing site planning, grading, stormwater management, drainage, and soil erosion.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Work Ethic: Strong attention to detail coupled with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities.
- Teamwork: Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Availability: Willingness to work Monday through Friday, with occasional evenings and weekends as project demands necessitate.
Compensation & Benefits

- Salary Range: The estimated salary range for this role is $80,200 – $84,500. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, location, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
- Medical & Insurance: Company-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage; life insurance, short- and long-term disability insurance, and paid pregnancy disability leave.
- Retirement: 401(k)/Roth with company match.
- Paid Time Off: Paid time off including parental and military leave. Employees are also eligible to receive up to 20 days of paid vacation time, 10 days of paid sick time, and 10 paid holidays throughout the year. Eligibility and actual paid time off may vary based on local law and factors such as hours worked, related work experience, and level.
