Quality Systems College Co-Op

We are actively seeking a highly motivated Quality Systems Co-op to join our Global Quality Systems group within our Quality team. This pivotal position will be based out of our Three Rivers Facility.

The Quality Systems Co-op will gain a broad understanding of AAM’s processes, products, procedures, and systems by supporting the implementation of new initiatives within our Quality Management Systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gain in-depth knowledge of the AAM Q4 Quality System.
  • Create and meticulously follow standardized work procedures.
  • Utilize and become proficient in various Quality Systems tools, including SharePoint, APEX, IQS, and IPF.
  • Actively interface with plant Quality, Engineering, and Production Teams to ensure seamless operations.
  • Issue Corrective Action Reports (CARS) and meticulously track them to completion, ensuring effective problem resolution.
  • Assist with Supplier Quality Engineering activities specifically associated with manufacturing FTQ (First Time Quality) and OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) loss, contributing to continuous improvement.
  • Provide support in troubleshooting daily production defects through the application of robust root cause analysis techniques as they occur, minimizing operational disruptions.
  • Issue PRR’s (Production Related Returns) to suppliers for defects that cause line downtime, holding suppliers accountable.
  • Capture and analyze downtime data, identifying the driver and calculating sort cost related to supplier issues to inform decision-making.
  • Uphold and implement safety and good housekeeping standards within the work environment.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the supervisor, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to contribute where needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree full-time in Engineering or a related field.
  • Anticipated graduation date of May 2027 or later.
  • Availability to work approximately 25 hours per week year-round.
  • Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without requiring Visa Sponsorship.
