Job Title: Bagger
Location: Retail Grocery Location
Position Overview
The Bagger plays a crucial role in enhancing customer confidence and loyalty by ensuring accurate, fast, and courteous customer checkout experiences. This individual is responsible for efficiently packaging customer purchases and expediting the flow of groceries from the checkout lane directly to the customer’s vehicle, contributing to a positive shopping experience.
Primary Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Provide continuous attention to customer needs; greet, assist, and thank customers in a prompt, courteous, and friendly manner.
- Assist customers in unloading purchases onto the conveyor belt at the checkout.
- Pack customer purchases carefully to prevent damages, then carry or push groceries in a shopping cart to the customer’s car and load them into the vehicle.
- Check the price of merchandise in all departments, as needed, to assist with accurate transactions.
- Restock and utilize supply items efficiently to minimize waste and maintain the lowest supply cost.
- Put away discarded or returned merchandise to their appropriate locations.
- Collect shopping carts from the parking lot and other areas, returning them to the designated storage areas.
- Maintain a clean, orderly work area free from safety hazards; report faulty equipment and potential hazards to management promptly.
- Notify management of associate theft, customer shoplifting, unauthorized mark-downs, property defacement, or any action that is illegal and/or against company policy.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Meet legal and company policy age requirements to perform job functions.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
- Ability to understand and follow English instructions clearly.
- Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same.
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check.
