Fabrication Associate – Entry Level | Ferguson

The TL;DR

• Mission: This person fabricates pipes, ensuring accurate measurements, cuts, and safe handling for customer orders and storage.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Machine Setup: Set up and maintain machines in the shop for efficient pipe fabrication.
• Pipe Processing: Accurately measure, record, and cut pipe using a band saw and/or torch.
• Fabrication Tasks: Perform rolling and grooving of single and double random lengths of pipe, as well as threading and beveling with Landis machines.
• Material Handling: Move loose and/or bundled pipe from various locations within the pipe yard and assemble pipe orders.
• Safety & Organization: Observe vital safety precautions for all fabrication processes and operate powered industrial equipment in accordance with OSHA guidelines and Ferguson procedures.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early Career. A foundational understanding of mechanical processes or a strong aptitude for hands-on work is beneficial.
• Experience: No prior fabrication experience is required for this entry-level role. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Skills: Outstanding math skills and the ability to calculate quantities of product on hand. Ability to remain results-focused in a customer service environment. Capability to thrive in an inclusive workplace.
• Bonus: Prior fabrication experience. Experience and training in operating machinery for cutting and threading pipe according to OSHA regulations.
