About the Role: Consulting Associate, EHS Management Information Systems (EMIS)

ERM is actively seeking a Consulting Associate, EHS Management Information Systems (EMIS) to join our expanding global Digital Services business. Position Summary

In this dynamic, client-facing role, you will play a crucial part in supporting business leaders through the successful selection, configuration, implementation, and sustainment of EHS and sustainability management information systems. You will provide objective, independent advice on both off-the-shelf and custom-built, third-party technologies, leveraging your knowledge of their market presence within our clients’ industries. (Comprehensive training will be provided.)

The ideal candidate will possess effective client communication skills and a strong passion for sustainability and technology. An educational background in fields such as Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or Theoretical Business is highly valued, as is professional experience with software implementation. Ideally, you will have completed university courses that offered exposure to and experience with environmental software or environmental studies, which will further develop your deep understanding of global EHS and sustainability business capabilities, regulatory requirements, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • System Evaluation & Selection: Evaluate EHS&S Management Information Systems (EMIS) available on the market, including assisting clients with system requirements definition and software selection processes.
  • Project Execution & Implementation: Engage in all life cycle stages of project execution; implement EMIS software for clients worldwide, assisting with system configuration, integration, training, rollout, ongoing support, maintenance, enhancement, and improvements as required to meet overall business objectives of clients.
  • Technical Configuration & Deployment: Support consultant teams in the configuration and deployment of environmental health, safety, and sustainability solutions. Specific activities include:
    • Drafting and publishing system design documents.
    • Configuring technical specifications and components within the solution.
    • Analyzing and migrating data.
    • Developing custom reports/dashboards and automated interfaces.
  • Training & Documentation: Participate in system support and training documentation teams, and prepare and present training to internal consultants and client system users.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Apply functional and technical skills to configure EMIS software; serve as a subject matter expert to provide an escalation point for production issues.
  • Business Process Analysis: Map and analyze end-to-end business processes within third-party and proprietary systems, as well as their integration with EHS&S Management Information Systems software, adhering to formal IT guidelines.
  • Change Management: Facilitate management of change issues associated with the adoption of new information systems.
  • Technology Champion: Serve as a power user of collaborative technology, and champion new and innovative business solutions within established and emerging technical architectures (e.g., Sphera, Enablon, Intelex, SAI Global EHS 360, Cority, and other EHS&S software systems).

Requirements

  • Education: University degree holder in an environmental or technical field such as Environmental Sciences, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or Theoretical Business.
  • Technical Background (Advantageous but Not Required): Diversified information technology background and knowledge of EHS software, methodologies, domains, and technology is an advantage but not strictly required. This includes areas like Environmental Compliance, Industrial Hygiene and Safety, Occupational Health, Occupational Hygiene, Audit Management, Incident Management & Risk Assessment.
  • Software Knowledge (A Plus but Not Required): Knowledge and education/professional experience with Enablon, Intelex, SAI Global EHS 360, Cority, Sphera, or other EHS&S software systems is a definite plus but not a mandatory requirement.
