Cybersecurity Intern
Company: Tyler Technologies
Tyler Technologies is seeking motivated Cybersecurity Interns to join our team for the summer. This role offers a hands-on experience within our Security Operation Center (SOC), providing essential support for daily security operations.
As a Cybersecurity Intern, you will play a crucial role in understanding and combating cyber threats. Your responsibilities will include:
- Researching current attack trends and methodologies.
- Tracking sources of malware and analyzing potential network compromises for clients.
- Responding to real-time security event alerts through meticulous log analysis investigations.
- Providing Tier 1 support for client security requests and escalating complex issues to Senior Analysts.
You will be expected to communicate effectively within the team and collaborate with Cybersecurity team members to ensure timely and high-quality reporting to Tyler’s client base.
Primary working hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM EST
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality analysis of Tyler Cybersecurity clients’ logs, including firewalls, operating systems, web servers, and more.
- Remain up to date on current information security trends and research techniques in the industry.
- Possess excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Function effectively and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Display excellent written and verbal communication skills when interacting with team members and clients.
- Provide additional assistance as needed when staffing or workload issues arise within the SOC.
- Communicate with clients in a prompt and professional manner regarding security incidents and requests.
- Provide high-quality service to Cybersecurity clients as necessary, ensuring their security needs are met.
- Assist Cybersecurity Team Lead(s)/Manager(s) in identifying potential quality-related issues in processes or deliverables.
- Assist Cybersecurity Threat Detection Analyst in identifying potential threat detection related issues or areas for improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Tyler Cybersecurity leadership.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Information and Communication Technology, Cyber Security, or a similar relevant field.
- Familiarity with foundational Information Security concepts and principles.
- Working knowledge of computer networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, OSI model).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, essential for internal and external communication.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
