About the Job: Asset Protection Agent
The Asset Protection (AP) team is dedicated to safeguarding customers, teams, and the brand. This role involves critical partnership with the store’s Emergency Response Team (ERT) to proactively prepare for, effectively respond to, and efficiently recover from various emergencies. Additionally, AP is crucial in protecting company profits by actively mitigating shrinkage risks, as well as preventing, investigating, and resolving theft, thereby ensuring merchandise availability for customers.
Asset Protection Pillars:
- Protect People: Providing essential support for the safety and security of both employees and customers.
- Protect Physical Spaces: Safeguarding the company’s assets, encompassing both the building infrastructure and merchandise.
- Support Product Accuracy: Collaborating with store partners to enhance inventory accuracy and reduce overall shrinkage.
Responsibilities: What You’ll Do
While no two days are exactly alike, a typical day for an Asset Protection Agent will likely involve the following key responsibilities:
- Theft Resolution: Utilize sound judgment to conduct quality apprehensions in high-shrinkage areas, strictly adhering to established policies, procedures, and AP leadership guidance.
- Theft Trend Identification: Proactively identify theft trends by leveraging advanced technology, reporting mechanisms, and various surveillance tactics.
- Shrinkage Reduction: Drive a culture of shrinkage reduction through the implementation of effective action plans and robust merchandise protection standards.
- Internal Theft Investigations: Identify, escalate, and support internal theft investigations through diverse methods, including, but not limited to, exception-based reporting and surveillance systems.
- Evidence Gathering: Investigate internal theft by diligently gathering evidence and collaborating closely with AP Leadership and specialized Investigation teams.
- Video Surveillance: Effectively utilize video systems to monitor theft activity and provide crucial support for ongoing investigations.
- RFID Data Analysis: Leverage RFID data to gain high-level insights into merchandise movement and assist with item-level investigations related to merchandise inaccuracies.
- Safety & Security: Maintain the general safety and security of customers, employees, and the store by responding to, escalating, and reporting all store security and emergency incidents, including medical emergencies.
- Physical Space Security: Support the security of physical spaces and occupants by leading security audits, actively participating in store meetings, and spearheading shrinkage awareness efforts and training within the store.
- Emergency Response Team (ERT): Serve as an active member of the store Emergency Response Team (ERT) and participate in store emergency response training, including First Aid.
- Incident Reporting: Prepare and submit prompt and comprehensive reports for all high-profile incidents, merchandise recoveries, investigations, policy violations, safety incidents, and other illegal activities.
- Court Testimony: Be prepared to testify in court when summoned for criminal and/or civil cases.
- Partnership Building: Foster strong cross-functional partnerships with store leaders, neighboring retailers, and local law enforcement agencies.

Pay offers are dependent on the location, as well as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
$24.70 – $25.70 Hourly
