About the Role
Are you an experienced and skilled engineer ready to lead and oversee complex construction projects from inception to completion? Ramboll invites you to join our Water US, Construction Management Division as a Resident Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in closing the gap to a sustainable future.
Your New Role
As the Resident Engineer, you will be responsible for engaging in construction projects of varying complexity, applying standard construction techniques, procedures, and criteria. This role demands the ability to collaborate effectively, make informed evaluations and interpretations, and exercise independent judgment in selecting and applying engineering/construction techniques to adapt and modify designs as needed. You will be instrumental in ensuring project success through meticulous oversight and strategic management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize comprehensive engineering and/or construction management knowledge to meticulously analyze project engineering concepts.
- Provide expert oversight to construction management personnel, ensuring rigorous quality assurance in procedures, methods, and materials, adhering strictly to contract documents. This includes managing multidisciplinary construction teams comprising contractors, designers, and engineers.
- Leverage technical expertise to ensure all project components consistently meet the stringent engineering requirements outlined in the contract documents.
- Prepare detailed cash flow and budgeting calculations, drawing from critical path schedules and schedules of values. This is crucial for enabling the project owner to accurately budget total project costs and effectively monitor contractor progress and scheduled completion.
Your New Team
You will be an integral part of the Water US, Construction Management Division, specifically focused on supporting the successful delivery of Ramboll’s municipal water construction projects. This team is at the forefront of sustainable change within the water sector.
About You

Minimum Qualifications:
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) Required in the state of New York.
- 10+ years of experience in engineering and/or construction management.
Key Competencies:
- Demonstrated ability to make critical decisions that directly impact the cost and performance of construction work.
- Strong expertise in contract management.
- Proven experience in managing multidisciplinary teams of 5 or more personnel.
- Proficiency in construction schedule review.
- Expertise in construction Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC).
Additional Certifications and Qualifications (Highly Desired):
- Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
- USACE Construction Quality Management (CQM)
- Certified Construction Contract Administrator (CCCA)
- NICET certifications

Salary Transparency:
The U.S. pay range for this position is $115,000 – $185,000 annually. This range reflects the cost of labor across various U.S. geographic markets and does not include bonuses, overtime, or other forms of compensation or benefits. Actual pay within this range will vary by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
