The Tone:
This is a contract role at Alignerr, located remotely. Alignerr is building next-generation AI systems for aviation and autonomous flight. This role is crucial for developing these systems by providing high-quality transcriptions of real Air Traffic Control (ATC) and pilot communications. Your accurate and detailed work will directly help improve AI systems critical for aviation safety and autonomy.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Transcribe: Transcribe real-world Air Traffic Control (ATC) ↔ pilot audio recordings with high fidelity.
• Label: Carefully label speakers, callsigns, instructions, and responses within the audio.
• Capture: Correctly capture aviation terminology, abbreviations, and phraseology specific to the domain.
• Pace: Work on task-based assignments at your own pace while adhering to project timelines.
• Ensure Quality: Meet critical quality and accuracy standards for all transcription and labeling work.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Strong understanding of aviation radio communications and phraseology, typically acquired as a pilot, student pilot, Air Traffic Controller (ATC), aviation professional, or aviation enthusiast who regularly listens to ATC.
• Experience: Demonstrated ability to accurately capture fast, noisy, real-world radio communications, even without professional transcription experience.
• Skills: Extreme attention to detail, patience with audio work, and proficiency in correctly identifying aviation terminology, abbreviations, and phraseology.
