Quality Engineering Intern

This Summer, we are excited to welcome a Quality Engineering Intern to our extraordinary team at the Milpitas, CA site. This role offers an invaluable opportunity to contribute to projects that enhance product yields, performance, and overall quality systems.
Reporting Structure:
- Reports to the Quality Manager
Key Responsibilities:
As a Quality Engineering Intern, you will be involved in a variety of critical areas, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to real-world projects. A typical day may include:
- Involvement with diverse Quality areas: Gaining exposure to Supplier Quality, Material Review Board (MRB), Quality Systems, Manufacturing Quality Engineering, and New Product Introduction (NPI).
- Data Analysis: Analyzing complex data sets and process flow procedures to identify areas for improvement and derive actionable insights.
- Report and Procedure Development: Researching, creating, and documenting various reports and standard operating procedures as required.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Working closely with Engineering Teams to address quality issues related to suppliers and products, analyze auditing results, and drive overall Key Performance Indicator (KPI) improvements.
- Team Participation: Attending team meetings, actively participating in discussions, and providing support for ongoing project work.
Student Qualities & Qualifications:
We are seeking enthusiastic and driven students who possess the following qualities and qualifications:
- Academic Enrollment: Currently enrolled as a Senior student pursuing a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical & Computer Engineering (undergraduate level).
- Coursework: Completion of coursework in Risk Analysis is highly valued.
- Enthusiasm for Manufacturing: A genuine interest and enthusiasm for working in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
- Collaboration & Creativity: Highly collaborative with a creative mindset, capable of contributing innovative solutions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills, enabling effective interaction with various stakeholders.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with Minitab or other statistical software, along with basic concepts of Quality Core Tools and Management Systems.
- Previous Experience (a plus): Prior quality-related internship experience is a definite advantage.
Internship Program Requirements:
- Availability: Must be available to work 40 hours/week (in-person) for a 10-12 week Summer assignment.
- University Enrollment: Currently enrolled in a 4-year accredited university.
- GPA: A minimum GPA of 3.0.
