The Tone:
This is a contract role at Alignerr (Powered by Labelbox), located remotely. Alignerr is building next-generation AI systems for aviation and autonomous flight, and this role directly supports that mission by providing high-quality transcriptions of real Air Traffic Control (ATC) and pilot communications. Your work is critical to improving AI systems used in aviation safety and autonomy, offering exposure to advanced LLMs and their training processes, all within a flexible, autonomous, and globally collaborative freelance environment.

• Mission: Provide high-quality transcriptions of aviation communications to train AI systems for aviation safety and autonomy.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Transcribe: Transcribe real-world Air Traffic Control (ATC) ↔ pilot audio recordings, accurately capturing all spoken communications.
• Label: Carefully label speakers, callsigns, instructions, and responses within the audio recordings.
• Capture: Correctly capture aviation terminology, abbreviations, and phraseology, ensuring precision for specialized language.
• Pace: Work on task-based assignments at your own pace, managing your workload autonomously.
• Quality: Meet critical quality and accuracy standards required for AI system training.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A background as a pilot, student pilot, Air Traffic Controller (ATC), or other aviation professional, or as an aviation enthusiast who regularly listens to ATC.
• Experience: Demonstrated understanding of aviation radio communications and specialized aviation phraseology.
• Skills: Possess extreme attention to detail and patience required for audio transcription work.
• Skills: Ability to accurately capture fast, noisy, real-world radio communications in challenging audio environments.
