Intern, Enterprise Architecture and Analysis, Business Analyst, Process Modeling for Digital Nexus
KPMG is seeking an Intern for the Enterprise Architecture and Analysis, Business Analyst, Process Modeling role within Digital Nexus.
Responsibilities
- Lead project-based initiatives with a primary focus on end-to-end process discovery, mapping, and optimization to support technology-enabled solutions.
- Partner with business stakeholders and technical teams to understand business objectives, operational challenges, and enabling technologies; lead structured process discovery and mapping sessions, developing current state and future state process models using Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN).
- Analyze business processes to identify inefficiencies, risks, and opportunities for simplification, standardization, and improved performance.
- Elicit, document, and manage clear, testable business and functional requirements using interviews, workshops, and process reviews; develop clear, high-quality process documentation and artifacts that serve as foundational inputs for solution design, development, and implementation.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for end-to-end process automation, including Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Agentic AI, aligned to business value and feasibility; collaborate with technology and delivery teams to ensure process designs are accurately translated into system requirements and implemented solutions.
- Communicate process insights, recommendations, and design decisions clearly to stakeholders through workshops, documentation, and presentations.
Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Industrial Engineering or an equivalent program.
- Must have a current/most recent GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and respond effectively to issues.
- Proficiency in process mapping and analysis; experience using process diagramming and modeling tools.
- Working knowledge of Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN).
- Ability to effectively facilitate cross-functional meetings and workshops, with strong verbal and written communication skills for engaging project teams, stakeholders, sponsors, and Business Analysis and Process Architecture (BAPA) leadership.
- Strong technical aptitude, critical thinking skills, and ability to navigate MS Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to incorporate GenAI tools into daily tasks.
- Understanding of business processes and information management concepts, with exposure to project management methodologies and best practices; the ability to apply these principles in a structured, collaborative technology environment is a plus.
- Excellent communication, time management, troubleshooting, and emerging leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively as a flexible, adaptable team player and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced technology environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and privileged information.
- Work location may be in the office, at client sites, or virtual/remote depending on business need; you must be located within the U.S. when working remotely; client site locations may require travel and overnight/extended stay.
