About The Role: Payroll Administrator

We are seeking a motivated Payroll Administrator to join our team at gategroup. This role is integral to ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for our operating units. The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for maintaining personnel and benefits files, administering payroll processes, and managing employee benefit verifications. Working closely with various departments, the successful candidate will handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism. The role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. The Payroll Administrator will also serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries related to wages, deductions, and attendance, fostering positive communication across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly payroll for operating units using company-specific systems and procedures, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Calculate adjustments for prior payments, including regular and overtime wages, to reflect correct compensation.
  • Collect and input daily timesheets, including missed punches approved by management, into the payroll system.
  • Generate and maintain payroll reports for record-keeping and managerial review, ensuring data accuracy.
  • Research and communicate with management regarding verification of hours worked and breaks, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Create payroll requests for special payments such as anniversary awards and employee recognition programs.
  • Participate in the Employee Resource Center, providing support and answering employee inquiries regarding wages, deductions, and attendance records.
  • Perform additional administrative duties related to payroll and employee benefits as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

Education

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • An associate’s or bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Candidates with relevant certifications or ongoing education in payroll, HR, or related fields will be considered advantageous.

Work Experience

  • A minimum of one year of administrative experience is required.
  • Prior experience in payroll or human resources is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with payroll systems such as Kronos, Workday, or Ultipro is a plus.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is essential.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities are necessary.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • Attention to detail is critical.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats is critical.

Language/Communication Skills

  • Effective communication skills are required.
  • Multilingual abilities are considered an asset.
  • Capable of accurately conveying data and collaborating with management and staff.
