This is a temporary, full-time internship at Freeport-McMoRan, with placements across Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas. • Location: Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Texas (In-person)
• Pay: $22.50/hour
• Mission: To assist with the installation, calibration, diagnostics, and maintenance of industrial automation equipment and systems, while gaining exposure to project management and safety protocols.
• Tech Stack: Instrumentation, Industrial communications, Industrial control systems (DCS, HMI, PLC), Industrial computers, Third-party equipment

What You’ll Actually Do
• Interfacing: Connect and communicate effectively between technicians, engineers, operations, and maintenance personnel.
• Equipment Support: Assist with the installation, calibration, diagnostics, and ongoing maintenance of industrial automation equipment.
• System Automation: Help troubleshoot, design, and program various process automation systems.
• Workflow Exposure: Gain practical experience with project management and maintenance workflow processes within an industrial setting.
• Safety Participation: Actively contribute to and engage with established safety and environmental programs.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in an associate degree or certification program, OR a recent graduate (within 12 months) of an associate degree or certification program in electronics, electrical, instrumentation, or a relevant field.
• Experience: No specific years of prior professional experience required, but strong academic understanding in relevant technical fields is essential.
• Skills: Ability to understand, apply, and communicate verbal and written work and safety-related instructions in English; capacity to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines; physical ability to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb, work on elevated platforms, and occasionally lift up to fifty (50) pounds in various industrial environments.
