The TL;DR

• Team: Engineering Development Team
• Mission: To support the engineering development team in designing, building, and evaluating automotive diagnostic prototypes and competitive products, contributing to Snap-on’s leadership in productivity solutions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Design: Participate in the hands-on process of designing new product prototypes for advanced automotive diagnostic solutions.
• Build: Construct and assemble product prototypes, translating design specifications into tangible hardware or systems.
• Test: Systematically test product prototypes to rigorously evaluate their performance, functionality, and adherence to engineering requirements.
• Compare: Conduct detailed head-to-head product comparisons, evaluating Snap-on products against competitive offerings to identify strengths and areas for improvement.
• Evaluate: Perform practical product evaluations, including comprehensive testing on actual automobiles, to assess real-world applicability and effectiveness.
• Present: Prepare and deliver detailed presentations of findings and insights derived from product comparisons and evaluations to the engineering development team.

The Must-Haves
• Background: An engineering student who has successfully completed at least two years of study towards a Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Technology, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering, indicating a solid academic foundation.
• Experience: Foundational knowledge in automotive technology and essential understanding of complex automotive systems. This includes a basic grasp of electronics design principles and/or mechanical design principles relevant to product development.
• Skills:
• Basic understanding of automotive technology.
• Basic understanding of electronics principles.
• Basic understanding of mechanical design principles.
• Essential understanding of automotive systems.
