What You’ll Actually Do
• Administration: Administer Linux/UNIX systems, specifically Ubuntu/Debian, with extensive use of the command line interface.
• Scripting: Write and maintain scripts using Python and UNIX shell languages (SH, BASH, CSH) for various system tasks and product functionalities.
• Development: Develop RESTful APIs using Python to support product integrations and features.
• Containerization: Develop, deploy, and administer applications and services based on container technologies like Docker.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or electrical engineering, prepared for an early career role with a strong foundation in Linux/UNIX system administration and Python development.
• Experience: 0-2 years of work experience, with required expertise in Ubuntu/Debian and extensive system administration from the command line. Experience developing, deploying, or administering Container/Docker-based applications is essential.
• Skills: Ability to write scripts in Python and UNIX shell languages (SH, BASH, CSH), develop RESTful APIs in Python, and perform comprehensive Linux/UNIX system administration.
• Bonus: Basic networking knowledge (IP networking, firewalls, wireless), familiarity with Cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP, OpenStack, VMWare, VirtualBox), experience with package management tools (APT, Yum, RPM), exposure to automation tools (Chef, Ansible, Puppet, Terraform), and knowledge of PERL, PHP, or *BSD.
