CAD Operator | Kimley-Horn

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Kimley-Horn, located in Raleigh, NC. As a CAD Operator, you will join our Land Development team, which is dedicated to crafting comprehensive site plans and construction drawings for a wide array of projects. This essential position directly contributes to achieving client goals by ensuring the precision and quality of all drafted designs and plans for successful project execution.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Drafting: Create site plans and construction drawings for Kimley-Horn projects utilizing basic computer drafting software.
• Plan Production: Design and produce comprehensive sets of plans, ensuring adherence to established standards.
• Standards Management: Implement and manage AutoCAD drafting and plan preparation standards across projects.
• Database Management: Assist in the maintenance and organization of the drawing database.
• Data Quality Assurance: Perform routine analysis and checks to ensure the accuracy and integrity of data within drawings.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A high school diploma or equivalent is required, providing the foundational knowledge for a career in CAD-related roles.
• Experience: 0 to 3 years of relevant experience specifically in a CAD-related position.
• Skills: Proficiency in basic computer drafting software; ability to implement and manage AutoCAD drafting and plan preparation standards; capability to perform routine analysis and checks to ensure data accuracy within drawings.
• Bonus: An Associates degree is preferred, along with proficiency in specific Autodesk products such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D, or Bentley products.
