Business Analyst Intern – Strategic Enablement Office (SEO)
The Business Analyst Intern will play a crucial role within the Strategic Enablement Office (SEO), contributing to the delivery of exceptional service across Project & Portfolio Management (PPM) and Client Engagement. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in portfolio management, governance, service documentation, client alignment, and process improvement. A key focus will be on identifying and implementing AI and automation solutions to enhance workflow efficiency, improve data quality, and optimize service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement Support
- Support Liaison Work: Assist in connecting with business technology leaders to ensure Hearst Technology Services (HTS) align with Hearst’s broader business goals and priorities.
- Meeting Preparation: Aid in the preparation for critical client meetings, including drafting agendas, compiling briefing materials, taking comprehensive notes, documenting action items, and managing follow-ups.
- Tracking & Transparency: Track client requests, identify recurring themes, and record key decisions. Maintain simple intake and status views to ensure transparency across all client interactions.
- Material Development: Contribute to the development of both internal and customer-facing materials, such as meeting decks, detailed reports, and concise executive summaries.
Portfolio Reporting & Program Delivery
- Automation & Streamlining: Identify and implement potential automations to streamline activities related to portfolio reporting and overall project management processes.
- Dashboard & Summary Creation: Prepare insightful dashboards and summaries that effectively highlight trends, project delivery health, potential risks, and cross-portfolio themes.
- Data Governance Support: Assist with critical data governance activities, including defining data standards, performing data quality checks, and ensuring adherence to reporting standards.
- Project Meeting Support: Provide support to project managers in meeting preparation and facilitation, including developing agendas, taking notes, documenting action items, and maintaining RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) logs.
- Communication & Reporting: Support routine project communications and assist in the preparation of status reports.
- Governance Routines: Help organize and maintain governance routines, including decision logs, stakeholder updates, and inputs for escalation processes.
Internship Details
- Duration: June 1, 2026 – August 14, 2026
- Hours: Up to 35 hours per week
Compensation
In accordance with applicable law, Hearst is required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role if hired in New York City. The reasonable estimate, if hired in New York City, is $20 per hour. Please note this information is specific to those hired in New York City. If this role is open to candidates outside of New York City, the salary range would be aligned to that specific location. A final decision on the successful candidate’s starting salary will be based on a number of permissible, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to skills and experience, training, certifications, and education.
