Skilled Trade Intern | Freeport-McMoRan

• Pay: $22.50 hourly
• Team: Under direct supervision
• Mission: This person assists with the installation, calibration, diagnostics, and maintenance of industrial automation equipment to support safe production and operational efficiency.
• Tech Stack: Instrumentation, Industrial communications, Industrial control systems (DCS, HMI, PLC), Industrial computers, third-party equipment
What You’ll Actually Do
• Interface: Connect with technicians, engineers, operations, and maintenance personnel to ensure smooth coordination and information exchange.
• Assist: Help with the installation, calibration, diagnostics, and ongoing maintenance of various industrial automation equipment.
• Troubleshoot: Support the troubleshooting, design, and programming of process automation systems to optimize performance.
• Participate: Actively engage in safety and environmental programs, while also gaining exposure to project management and maintenance workflow processes.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled in an associate degree or certification program in electronics, electrical, instrumentation, or a relevant field, OR a recent graduate (within 12 months prior to internship start date) with an associate degree or certification in electronics, electrical, instrumentation, or a relevant field.
• Skills: Ability to understand, apply, and communicate verbal and written work and safety-related instructions, procedures, job assignments, and applicable safety standards in English.
• Skills: Demonstrated ability to multi-task, work effectively under pressure, and consistently meet time-sensitive deadlines.
