Specimen Processor I | Labcorp

• Mission: This person is responsible for the accurate and timely handling, processing, and documentation of clinical specimens to support diagnostic testing.
• Tech Stack: MS Office

What You’ll Actually Do
• Specimen Preparation: Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
• Specimen Routing: Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas while accurately identifying and labeling them.
• Specimen Shipping: Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities to meet department activity and production goals.
• Data Entry: Perform accurate and timely data entry of patient information and resolve any problem specimens, documenting as necessary.
• Specimen Storage: Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples for future use.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Experience: One year or more experience in a lab, accessioning, production, manufacturing, or warehouse environment is preferred.
• Skills: Comfortable handling biological specimens, ability to accurately identify specimens, strong data entry and organizational skills, and a high level of attention to detail.
• Bonus: Experience with MS Office.
