Job Title: Engineering Intern
About the Internship
An exciting opportunity for an Engineering Intern to join our dynamic team, focusing on technical projects that are instrumental in the production of high-quality investment castings. This comprehensive internship program is designed to span approximately 12 weeks, commencing in June 2024. The successful incumbent will work collaboratively within a team of experienced engineers and technicians, and will be expected to comfortably and effectively interact with manufacturing employees to ensure the successful completion of all assigned projects.

Monday – Friday, Day Shift
Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions
- Responsible for managing and executing assigned engineering-related projects and tasks from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with departmental goals.
- Design and develop essential manufacturing tools and fixtures to optimize production processes and enhance operational efficiency.
- Actively participate in and lead cost reduction projects, identifying opportunities and implementing innovative solutions to improve overall cost-effectiveness.
- Prepare and deliver professional presentations on project progress, findings, and related activities to engineering teams and key stakeholders.
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously, often under tight deadlines, while maintaining high standards of quality and timely delivery.
- Exhibit a high sense of urgency and strong motivation in all assigned duties, demonstrating proactive problem-solving and commitment to results.
- Assist in the creation and documentation of clear, concise manufacturing work instructions and technique cards to standardize processes and ensure operational consistency.
- Proactively identify and address potential safety considerations within the scope of all projects, contributing to a safe and secure working environment.
Education and Qualifications
- Education: Current enrollment in an accredited engineering program, actively pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering.
- Technical Understanding: Basic understanding of mechanical, industrial, and/or materials science engineering principles is required. Knowledge of investment casting processes is highly preferred.
- Software Proficiency: Experience using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software such as Solidworks, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), statistical programs, and Microsoft Excel is preferred.
- Soft Skills: Possess strong organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written), with the ability to comfortably and effectively interact with manufacturing employees at all levels.
