Position Overview

Davey Resource Group, Inc. (DRG) is seeking talented environmental science students for a hands-on summer internship in Flemington, NJ, during summer 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in the environmental consulting industry, working alongside DRG’s expert staff on diverse environmental projects.

Key Responsibilities and Learning Opportunities

Interns will engage in a variety of field-based environmental science projects, contributing to real-world conservation and compliance efforts. Duties may include:

  • Wetland and stream surveys
  • Wildlife and vegetation monitoring
  • Environmental compliance tasks
  • Invasive plant control
  • Vegetation monitoring/transplanting
  • Wildlife and plant surveys
  • Ecological community mapping
  • Wetland/stream delineation

Training and Development

Beyond hands-on field experience, interns will participate in structured educational sessions designed to broaden their understanding of DRG’s services across various offices and disciplines. Specialized training will be provided in key areas essential for environmental professionals, including:

  • Plant identification
  • Land navigation
  • Wetland delineation techniques

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Academic Interest: Applicants should demonstrate a strong interest in and understanding of wetland ecology.
  • Educational Background: At least one year of undergraduate studies in a related environmental science field is required.
  • Work Ethic: A strong work ethic and a desire to gain experience across different aspects of environmental consulting are essential.
  • Physical Demands: This internship involves a significant amount of outdoor work, requiring rigorous physical labor.
  • Travel: Interns should be prepared for occasional long hours and potential interstate travel.
