Job Title

Test Development Engineering Internship within our US Design Division

Internship Details

  • This is a temporary employment opportunity for engineering students seeking a summer internship.
  • Duration: Internships are projected to start in May/June 2026 and end in late August 2026.
  • Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (except holidays).
  • Compensation: Paid internship at $21.00 USD per hour.
  • Location: Located in Winona, Minnesota, at our Winona office.
  • On-site Requirement: 100% on site required.
  • Relocation & Housing: Relocation and Housing Stipend are not offered for internships.

Essential Functions

Engineering activities for an intern will be prioritized based on customer needs. Based on project availability and need, the expected test development activities include:

  • Document manufacturing test requirements
  • Document design implementation
  • Write test software – LabVIEW and TestStand
  • Assist with assembly of testers and fixtures
  • Assist with debug of testers and fixtures
  • Participate in design reviews
  • Perform verification and validation activities

Additionally, this role offers the opportunity to:

  • Experience being part of an engineering team environment
  • Work with new products – most have not been released to market
  • Show and apply what you have learned in school

Skills Required

  • Possess excellent communication abilities (oral and written) to work effectively with others/other departments and independently
  • Perform methodical problem solving
  • Have good computer skills and an aptitude to advance those skills
  • Ability to learn at a fast pace
  • Interpretation of specifications and blueprints
  • Demonstrate high level of attention to detail
  • Creativeness in identification and implementation of solutions
  • Use or learn to use various test equipment
  • Facilitate timely project results that can be validated with metrics
  • Provide periodic project status presentations
  • Perform duties in accordance to standards and procedures
  • May require overtime and/or flexible hours.
  • Work for extended periods at a computer or on your feet.
  • Strong preference: working knowledge of National Instruments LabVIEW.

Education

Pursuing a 4-year engineering degree ideally in Software, Electrical, or Computer engineering. Physics with electrical focus or Computer Science with hardware experience may be considered as well.

  • Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 17:00

Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation Range: Pay for internships is set at $21.00 USD.
  • Benefits: Due to the temporary nature of the role, benefits will not be offered.
