About the Job: Transportation Engineering Intern

Overview
Woolpert is seeking multiple Transportation Engineering Interns for a full-time, 40-hour per week position for the Fall 2026 (August-December 2026) semester. This exciting opportunity offers real-world project involvement within a supportive environment, alongside ample opportunities for professional and personal growth.
Interns will work alongside Woolpert infrastructure teams on a variety of projects across the Transportation spectrum, including projects in traffic, roadway and pedestrian facilities, bridges and structures, and transportation planning. This work will span several disciplines, involve a variety of clients, and directly impact the communities where we live and work.
Locations: Ohio (Dayton, Columbus, Cincinnati, and Cleveland offices)
Visa Sponsorship: We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. Applicants must already possess work authorization in the country the job is located.
What You Will Do
- Work as part of the industry-leading Transportation team.
- Gain real-world experience working on actual projects alongside Licensed Engineers who are experts in their fields.
- Assist on a variety of projects doing such things as analysis, design, plan production, and cost estimation.
- Use industry-leading applications such as Civil 3D and OpenRoads Designer, alongside discipline-specific programs that aid in design.
- Work as a member of a team that coordinates with other internal teams and external subconsultants and clients.
- Perform tasks and solve problems with a high degree of independence.

- Be enrolled as a student at an accredited college or university, preferably with at least sophomore status.
- Pursuing a Civil Engineering degree or a civil adjacent degree.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to function well in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Exceptional multitasking and time management skills.
- Be ready and open to learning!
- Be located in Ohio near one of our offices or be willing to relocate at your own expense, as this position requires at least 2 days/week of in-office time.
Pay Range
$22 – $26 USD
Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
