About the Job

Work Hours:

  • 15-29 hours/week
  • Monday – Friday, between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM

About the Role:

KUB is looking to hire two student positions, specifically designed to provide support to key operational departments:

  • Safety Department: One student will support the vital functions of the Safety Department.
  • Underground Construction Department: Another student will provide assistance to the Underground Construction Department.

Both roles encompass a range of administrative and data management responsibilities:

  • General Office Duties: This includes essential tasks such as filing, scanning, copying, and reviewing documents as per instruction.
  • Data Management: Responsibilities will also involve transferring paper documents to electronic data, assisting with invoice reconciliation and payment processes, auditing time sheets, and performing general data entry to maintain updated databases.
  • Software Utilization: Students will gain experience working with basic Microsoft Office products (such as Word, Excel) and KUB proprietary software.
  • Field Opportunities: There may be some opportunities for involvement in field-related duties, providing a broader understanding of KUB’s operations.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires a mix of sedentary office work and occasional physical activity:

  • Lifting/Moving: Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally to move or relocate files, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Posture: Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may include walking or standing for brief periods.
  • Work Environment: Primarily an office setting, but regular field visits and activities are required.
  • Physical Demands: Requires bending, stooping, some lifting, working in awkward and strenuous positions at times, and mobility over rough terrain.

Minimum Requirements:

Candidates must meet the following essential criteria:

  • Student Status: Must be a full-time student of an accredited college or university pursuing an Associates, Bachelors, or graduate-level degree.
  • Academic Performance: Must have and maintain a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher.
  • Computer Skills: Must possess basic computer skills.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills are required.
  • Availability: Must be available to work a minimum of 15 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
  • License: Valid driver’s license is mandatory.

Preferred Requirements:

Ideal candidates will also possess the following qualifications:

  • Academic Focus: Pursuing a business-related undergraduate or graduate degree.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Writing Ability: Ability to write reports/summaries/articles requiring minimal review.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and SharePoint.
  • Data Visualization: Experience with Tableau or PowerBI.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work with multiple different teams and departments across the organization.

The selection process for this position involves several phases:

  2. Phase 2: Evaluation of experience, training, and education.
  3. Phase 3: Interview with department representatives.
  4. Phase 4: Exercises including written, performance, and behavioral assessments.
  5. Phase 5: Background Investigation.
