Job Description
Jr. Data Engineer
One of the largest logistics and transportation employers in the US is seeking a Jr. Data Engineer to join their expanding team. This role is crucial for understanding business problems and assisting in designing solutions that transform complex ideas into sustainable processes. The individual will primarily focus on supporting the onboarding of new lines of business into the data analytics team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the full life cycle of data engineering, from gathering requirements from internal customers to building data pipelines, testing, reporting, and maintaining solutions.
- Support escalation tasks and contribute to system development.
- Help automate processes and maintain internal systems.
- Assist in data modeling, leveraging growing expertise in data structures specific to the company’s operating systems to turn data into valuable business insights.
Skills and Requirements:
- 2-5+ years’ experience of data engineer experience
- Strong ADF experience (creating pipelines from scratch, knowledge of connectors and activities following architect plan)
- Strong knowledge of SQL (mostly working with SQL scripting implementing into ADF)
- Understanding of the full life cycle of data engineering
- Extremely detail-oriented and ability to provide effective updates
- Strong communication skills for working with internal and external customers
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Python or Spark experience (basic level scripting and reviews in a small Python environment)
- DevOps Experience
- Data Bricks Experience
- Background in Logistics
- Agile Methodologies
- Experience with cloud (Azure specifically)
