U-Box Customer Care Driver Responsibilities

• Safely operate a flatbed truck (comprehensive training provided).
• Proficiently operate an 8000-lb propane forklift or a truck-mounted forklift (all necessary training will be provided).
• Efficiently load and unload storage containers for delivery to customers.
• Transport storage containers to and from specified local destinations, including customers’ homes and businesses.
• Actively participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University to enhance skills and knowledge.

Minimum Requirements

• Possession of a clean motor vehicle driving record.
• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Department of Transportation certification.
• A valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).

Work Environment

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which necessitate special safety precautions. You will be working around moving parts, heavy machinery, fumes, and various chemicals. May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields to ensure your safety and well-being.

Physical Demands

This role requires significant physical exertion, including long periods spent both indoors and outdoors while remaining stationary. You will be regularly traversing various spaces, repositioning your body to reach and effectively use tools, and moving items weighing a minimum of 50 lbs, either assisted or unassisted.
