About This Opportunity
As a Summer Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will get exposed and engaged to the full product development lifecycle, from concept to prototype and release to production. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge technology in areas like Hyperscale products, networking, storage, and servers, including high-end thermal design from air cooling to liquid cooling.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of heat transfer and mechanical design (Creo, Solidworks).
- Ability to learn new tools in design and testing.
- Capability to effectively work cross-functionally.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Excellent analytical, report writing, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Activities and Highlights
Activities:
- Help with design tasks and collaborate with experts in the field.
- Assist in testing procedures and document test results accurately.
- Engage in frequent hands-on lab work, including the operation of power tools (such as drills, dremels, etc.).
Key highlights of the role:
- Exposure to product definition and development for Hyperscale products.
- Exposure to the full life cycle of product development in Networking, storage, and servers.
- Exposure to high-end thermal design, from air cooling to liquid cooling solutions.
Physical Demands
Duties of this position are varied and will include:
- Performing duties in a normal office environment.
- May require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
- Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
