Prosek Partners: Public Relations Development Program
At Prosek Partners, the stories we tell impact the global economy. This Public Relations Development Program offers post-graduate students an exciting opportunity to launch their careers in the dynamic field of financial communications. This 6-month program is meticulously designed to train the next generation of PR agency professionals, providing a fast-paced environment where you’ll work alongside some of the biggest household financial services names in the world.
Throughout the program, you’ll develop crucial media relations and writing skills, while gaining an intricate understanding of various sectors including Wall Street, financial technology, B2B, and professional services.
Program Overview and Responsibilities
Real Work Experience
As a Prosek Apprentice, you will engage in hands-on responsibilities, including:
- Developing Media Expertise: Build a strong knowledge of the media landscape by creating media lists, pitching stories, and establishing valuable relationships with journalists.
- News Trend Analysis: Become adept at reading and analyzing news trends, using this insight to develop timely and impactful pitch angles.
- Content Creation: Write compelling content, including messaging, press releases, and pitches, designed to effectively propel your clients’ brands forward.
- Account Execution: Take ownership of every element of account execution, which involves tracking action items, taking thorough notes during internal and client calls, and monitoring team progress related to media opportunities and projects.
- Research Mastery: Participate in the business development process, honing your research skills to become a master researcher.
Professional Development and Training
Prosek’s Boot Camp program offers a comprehensive curriculum, curated and taught by top leaders across the firm on a weekly basis throughout the program. These Boot Camps are designed to educate Apprentices on both PR fundamentals and key client sectors. Topics of education include:
- Writing 101
- Professional Optics
- Capital Markets and Asset Management
- Professional Services and Financial Technology
- Wealth Management and Banking
Internal Network and Support
Prosek Partners is deeply invested in the growth and support of its Apprentices. Each Apprentice is strategically paired with a manager, a media buddy, and a mentor:
- Managers: Responsible for identifying an Apprentice’s strengths, areas for development, and interests to ensure they are provided with the right tools to succeed.
- Media Buddies: Assist Apprentices in navigating the complex financial media landscape and developing robust media relations skills.
- Mentors: Provide essential support to Apprentices as they acclimate to a new environment and corporate culture.
Throughout the Apprentice Program, performance will be continuously assessed to determine readiness for promotion to Assistant Account Executive, taking into consideration individual performance and business needs at the time.
Experience and Qualifications
- Education: Must have completed a BS/BA degree by the start of the program.
- Interest: Strong interest in financial services, professional services, technology, and B2B communications.
- Teamwork: Possess a team player mindset and a willingness to work collaboratively.
- Skills: Solid research and critical thinking skills, along with strong time management and prioritization abilities.
- Attention to Detail: Extreme attention to detail is a must.
- Prior Experience: Prior PR internship(s) are strongly encouraged (but not required).
Salary: $20.00/hour
