A Day In The Life of a Meat & Seafood Clerk

As a Meat & Seafood Clerk, you will be actively involved in the preparation, packaging, and display of fresh meat and seafood products. This role demands adherence to high standards of quality and food safety. Your responsibilities will include maintaining a clean and organized department, assisting with inventory management and restocking, and providing friendly, knowledgeable service to customers. This means helping them select the perfect cut or offering valuable cooking tips. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment, take pride in their work, and are comfortable with hands-on tasks that may involve getting a little messy. What You Bring To The Table

• Food Prep Experience: Prior experience in meat or seafood preparation, grocery, or food service is preferred.
• Product Knowledge: Understanding of various meat and seafood types, indicators of freshness, and safe handling practices.
• Customer Service Skills: Ability to effectively assist customers with product selection and offer helpful cooking or preparation tips.
• Food Safety Awareness: Familiarity with sanitation standards and proper procedures for handling raw products.
• Attention to Detail: Capability to maintain clean and attractive displays, consistently monitor product quality, and accurately follow packaging guidelines.
• Physical Capability: Comfort with lifting up to 40 lbs. and working in refrigerated environments.
• Team Collaboration: Willingness to support fellow associates and actively contribute to a positive store culture.
• Multitasking & Efficiency: Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced setting while maintaining accuracy.
