You will receive clear instructions and technical guidance, with assistance from design engineers on most assignments. Your work will be reviewed to ensure sound engineering judgment.

This is a hybrid role operating between an office environment and a field environment.

Pay & Hours

  • Pay Range: $20–$25/hour
  • Hours: 15–20 hours per week to start, increasing to full-time during the summer.

Key Responsibilities (What You’ll Do)

  • Assist with developing or maintaining engineering-related computer programs and systems (all work must follow CAD standards, drafting manuals, and file management protocols).
  • Organize and maintain engineering calculations for roadway, bridge, hydraulic, and other civil designs.
  • Perform additional duties as needed, which may include administrative tasks such as filing, answering phones, or assisting with business-related activities.

What You’ll Need (Qualifications)

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university, with progress toward upper‑division civil engineering coursework.
  • Demonstrated passion for learning and growing in the engineering profession.

This hybrid job routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and copy machines. May require occasional exposure to work environments that may include inclement weather, heat, humidity, noise, hazard, atmospheric conditions, and bodies of water, depending on project requirements.

While performing the duties of this job, physical demands include frequent sitting, moving, standing, talking, hearing, and occasional balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling.
