Entry Level Civil Engineer (Land Development)

A leader in the Engineering & Surveying industry is actively seeking multiple Entry Level Civil Engineers to join and expand their Land Development team. This is a permanent position offering a robust opportunity for professional growth within a dynamic and supportive environment.

Salary: $60,000 – $80,000 per year

The Role

As a Permanent Entry Level Civil Engineer, you will become a vital part of an enthusiastic and dynamic team responsible for the design and oversight of various exciting land development projects. This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience across a range of tasks, including residential subdivision projects and site layout design. Operating in a fast-paced environment, you will encounter unique challenges that present continuous learning opportunities. Your responsibilities will include providing essential technical support to senior engineers and project managers, actively contributing to both the design and planning stages of projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of site development designs, including grading, drainage, utilities, and roadways.
  • Participate in the design and preparation of construction documents for residential subdivision projects.
  • Utilize Civil 3D software to create and modify civil engineering design plans.
  • Conduct site investigations and inspections to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project specifications and timelines are met.
  • Contribute to project meetings and liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders as required.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical reports, proposals, and presentations.
  • Continually update skills and knowledge in the area of civil engineering and land development to ensure competence and compliance with current standards and technologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in civil engineering, land development, site design, or a related field.
  • Proficient with Civil 3D and other relevant design software.
  • Familiarity with residential subdivision design and site layout.
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and construction methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information.
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently, managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license may be required for site visits.
