Engineering Intern

Job Summary

The Engineering Intern is responsible for supporting engineers and production staff in the introduction of new equipment and processes. This role is geared toward college students looking to gain real experience in modern manufacturing and equipment implementation.

Location and Reporting

This position reports to the Principal Engineer – Advanced Manufacturing Technology and is part of the Manufacturing Technology team located in Cortland, NY. This will be an on-site role.

Key Responsibilities and Opportunities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Support the handover and hypercare of new equipment.
  • Assist with basic tooling drawings, fabrication, testing, and revisions.
  • Shadow the full equipment lifecycle: requirements, quoting, design review, FAT (Factory Acceptance Test), SAT (Site Acceptance Test), qualification, and handover.

Essential Requirements

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in one of the following (or similar) fields:
    • Advanced Manufacturing Engineering
    • Any related engineering or technical discipline
  • Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
    • Ability to walk the site, perform inspections, and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
    • Comfortable working in a manufacturing setting with appropriate PPE provided.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Willingness to be hands-on in a production environment and observe processes directly.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams).
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA is preferred.

Compensation

The hourly payrate for this role is $20 per hour. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
