Position Overview
Are you seeking an entry-level role where you can make a profound impact on company culture every day? Kiewit is looking for motivated individuals to join as a Financial Analyst. In this role, you will be instrumental in the business management of projects ranging from $1 million to $4 billion, taking part in key forecasting and accounting practices.
Each project at Kiewit operates like a small business, and as a Financial Analyst, you will concentrate on critical tasks such as cost control, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, human capital management, and compliance. You will become skilled in executing processes and utilizing tools related to various cost and revenue components, including labor, construction equipment, materials, and subcontracts. This position is an integral part of the month-end close-out process, assisting with the preparation of financial reporting packages for project management.

This position will be based out of Lone Tree, CO, with potential for frequent travel or temporary assignment at project sites in Wyoming, Idaho, Montana, or Alaska.
Responsibilities
- Recognize the importance of being a team player by adapting to project needs and helping in other areas as needed.
- Foster relationships with the Operations team and show a willingness to learn about the work.
- Comprehend how goods are purchased, invoices are received and paid, and maintain purchasing workflow internal controls.
- Demonstrate understanding of the accounts payable process workflow and be able to troubleshoot payment or vendor issues.
- Understand intercompany and client billing process workflow, the importance of timely and accurate billing documentation, and the effects of timeliness on cash management.
- Ensure that all cost and cost adjustments are reviewed for accuracy to meet company standards and accounting rules.
- Review costs, quantity claiming, budget structure, and exception reports, and make appropriate corrections to ensure accurate reporting for management.
- Identify, adjust, and review forecast and budget issues with the cost report to confirm proper recognition of cost and revenue.
- Display first-rate customer service skills – maintain a positive attitude and always be willing to offer a helping hand to other team members.
- Maintain a highly organized work environment, understand the importance of time management, and communicate in a clear, concise, and effective manner.
Qualifications
- Ability to travel up to 50%.
- 0-2 years’ financial/data analysis experience.
- Degree or Associate’s in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Business Management, or equivalent.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Previous internship experience is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience working with Pivot Tables, V-Look Ups, and other key Excel functions is preferred.
- Effective oral and written communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
- Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and passionate about continuous improvement.
- Must be able to freely access all parts of a mine site in wide-ranging climates and environments.
- Ability to work well independently, as well as part of a team.
- Must have a valid Driver’s License.

Compensation & Benefits
Base Compensation: $71,000 – $76,000
(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
