Role Overview: Junior PR Specialist
We are actively seeking a dynamic and driven Junior PR Specialist to play a crucial role in supporting Atom’s media outreach and executing impactful press efforts. Working under the clear direction of Atom’s leadership and marketing team, this is a highly hands-on, execution-focused position. It’s an ideal opportunity for a junior PR professional who has already contributed to securing real media coverage and is eager to continue building their experience within a rapidly growing tech company.
What You’ll Do
- Build Targeted Media Lists: Conduct thorough research to identify and compile comprehensive media lists. Focus on key business, technology, and startup publications, including top-tier outlets such as Forbes, Business Insider, TechCrunch, VentureBeat, and many others relevant to our industry.
- Execute Media Outreach Campaigns: Actively support outbound pitching initiatives by utilizing provided angles, compelling messaging, and strategic guidance from leadership.
- Pitch & Follow Up with Impact: Take ownership of sending strategic pitches, diligently managing follow-ups, and professionally responding to media inquiries in close coordination with the wider team.
- Assist in Press Materials Development: Contribute to the drafting and ongoing updating of compelling pitches, versatile templates, and essential media materials, ensuring alignment with approved brand messaging.
- Coordinate Coverage Support: Provide vital assistance in coordinating press activities around significant company milestones, including product launches, strategic partnerships, and crucial company announcements.
- Tracking & Reporting: Diligently maintain accurate outreach trackers and up-to-date media lists. Generate basic but essential reports on outreach responses and achieved media placements to measure effectiveness.
What We’re Looking For
- Junior-Level PR Experience: Demonstrated prior experience in public relations or media relations, with a proven track record of contributing to tangible results.
- Exposure to Top-Tier Publications: Prior exposure to or experience working with top-tier business, technology, or startup publications. This could be gained independently, through an agency, or as part of a collaborative team effort.
- Exceptional Communication Skills: Strong writing abilities and a high level of comfort in communicating professionally and effectively with journalists and editors.
- Highly Organized & Detail-Oriented: A meticulous approach to tasks, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to execute duties efficiently with constructive feedback and clear direction.
- Tech/Startup PR Experience: Required experience supporting PR efforts for technology companies or fast-paced startup environments.
Bonus Points
- Experience supporting PR campaigns specifically within an agency setting or a dynamic startup environment.
- A genuine interest in startups, brand development, or founder-focused products and services.
