Job Overview

Ardmore Roderick is seeking a Summer 2026 Roadway Construction Management Intern to join our team of infrastructure solutions experts. This field-based opportunity will involve working on various street rehabilitation projects in Chicago, IL, where you will contribute to solving our clients’ ever-evolving project needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Ardmore Roderick construction management roadway team on various tasks for assigned projects.
  • Learn basic principles of roadway construction management.
  • Assist in maintaining detailed records of daily construction operations.
  • Assist in overseeing daily construction activities and ensuring compliance with the project’s specifications, timeline, and budget.
  • Assist with daily interaction with the contractor to ensure the project is completed on time and within budget.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a four-year degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Demonstrated interest in construction management transportation-based projects (e.g., roads, highways, tollways).
  • Willingness to work in various elements and seasons of the Illinois climate.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and have good, reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
  • Willingness to work early hours if needed on assigned projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Have a team player mindset with the ability to communicate proficiently in written and verbal forms.
  • Possess good to great organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior construction management internship experience.

Hourly Pay

$25 per hour
