Job Summary

The Calibration Technician Intern will play a supportive role in the daily operations of the calibration department within a dynamic manufacturing environment. Under the direct guidance of experienced calibration technicians, the intern will assist in performing essential equipment calibrations, meticulous record-keeping, and ensuring the highest standards of measurement accuracy across the facility. This position offers invaluable hands-on experience in metrology, precision measurement techniques, and critical quality assurance processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist calibration technicians with the calibration, verification, and maintenance of various measurement and test equipment.
  • Accurately record calibration data and results within the company’s dedicated gage tracking software (e.g., GageTrak or similar systems).
  • Support the organization and meticulous upkeep of calibration standards and tools.
  • Help review and update calibration certificates and all related documentation.
  • Assist in the labeling and tracking of gages and instruments that are due for calibration.
  • Strictly follow established calibration procedures and adhere to all safety guidelines.
  • Participate actively in continuous improvement efforts aimed at enhancing measurement systems and calibration efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Manufacturing Technology, or a closely related technical field.
  • Demonstrated experience or relevant coursework involving measurement systems or quality control principles.
  • A solid understanding of scientific notation and basic measurement units.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office applications and familiarity with gage tracking software (e.g., GageTrak or similar).
  • Familiarity with metrology and core calibration principles.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proven ability to maintain accurate and thorough records.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
