Engineering Research & Development Internship

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in proactive innovation projects within the RD&A team, contributing to cutting-edge research and development initiatives.
  • Provide essential support to scientists in executing research activities and ensuring the timely completion of project deliverables.
  • Apply fundamental scientific principles to research, develop, and improve existing products across diverse categories, including Beverage, Meal, Snack, Bakery, Meat, Dairy, and Plant-Based Food markets.
  • Conduct hands-on lab work to rigorously develop, test, and evaluate novel product concepts and formulations.
  • Translate identified customer needs and market insights into viable technical solutions and tangible product improvements.
  • Engage actively in brainstorming and ideation sessions to generate and refine innovative product concepts from inception.
  • Contribute significantly to the conceptualization, development, specification, and processing of new and improved products.
  • Collaborate effectively with the RD&A Manager and various cross-functional teams to support overarching project objectives and strategic goals.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college or university, with an anticipated graduation date between December 2026 – May 2027.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in key areas such as food chemistry, sensory science, microbiology, food packaging, food systems, and food engineering.
  • Applicable understanding of food processing technology and statistical process knowledge.
  • Legal Authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Sponsorships will NOT be provided for early career roles, now or in the future.
  • Proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • All candidates must be geographically flexible and willing to relocate for this internship opportunity.
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks and effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated strong problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Excellent technical skills relevant to food science and engineering.

Compensation:

The compensation for this role is $20/hr.
