About the Internship Program:
Are you a rising junior or senior interested in gaining real-world, hands-on, project-based experience in Summer 2026? This is your chance to explore the business world at the forefront of global finance.

Based in Manassas, VA, you will be part of SWIFT’s 10-week internship program. During your internship, you will work alongside a dedicated mentor and a supportive team, helping you develop critical business acumen and technical skills.

About the Role – AI Software Engineer Intern:
As an AI Software Engineer Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in modernizing legacy applications using cutting-edge AI tools. You’ll work closely with experienced developers to replace vendor-translated code with native C++ constructs, ensuring functional integrity, improving maintainability, and removing vendor dependencies.

This internship offers comprehensive exposure to end-to-end software development, including front-end, back-end, database integration, and system qualification, all while contributing to vital solutions for the global financial industry.

What You’ll Do:
• Work alongside senior developers to complete assigned tasks and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Take ownership of specific modernization activities, ensuring code meets functional and performance standards.
• Collaborate with architects to understand requirements and propose best-practice solutions.
• Analyze system components such as input/output flows, data structures, and alternative approaches.
• Validate solutions and assist in resolving technical challenges.
• Contribute to end-to-end system integration to enhance overall product quality.
• Participate in all development stages, gaining exposure to UI/UX, back-end services, hosting, and server management.

Qualifications:

Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
• Be a rising junior or senior (undergraduate) during the Summer 2026 internship period.

Technical Skills:
Proficiency in C++ and object-oriented programming.
• Knowledge of Python and readiness to use it when required.
• Familiarity with Linux OS, Git, and file systems.
• Understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles.

Soft Skills:
Adaptability and eagerness to learn.
• Strong communication skills.
Team-oriented mindset and ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
