Internship Description:

This internship offers a well-rounded exposure to the non-profit sector, with a specific emphasis on membership management and customer experience. It’s an excellent opportunity for resume building and gaining practical experience.

Key Project Scopes and Responsibilities:

  • CRM (Customer Relationship Management) Systems:
    • Assist in updating the CRM by reviewing returned mail.
    • Reach out to members via email to update their mailing addresses, ensuring accurate member data.
  • Membership Retention:
    • Support the Member Engagement Specialist and the Member Value & Experience team.
    • Complete time-sensitive deliverables for mailings related to member anniversaries and membership renewals.

As an integral part of the Membership team, you will also:

  • Gain an understanding of the critical importance of member onboarding, member engagement, and member retention within a non-profit trade association.
  • Enhance your multi-channel communication and marketing skills, particularly through email and direct mail.
  • Learn and practice the importance of maintaining a positive attitude in a professional work environment.
  • Utilize essential business tools that are typically not taught in academic settings but are vital in most professional roles and companies.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to commit to 8-10 set hours of work per week. Hours will be scheduled flexibly around the candidate’s academic schedule.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Energetic, proactive, and eager to tackle new projects and ideas.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • A current GPA of 3.0 or better.
  • Preferred Majors: Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business Management, Non-Profit Management.
