About the Role: Construction Manager – Preconstruction Transmission

As a Construction Manager focusing on Preconstruction Transmission, you will play a crucial role in the initial planning and strategic development of high-voltage transmission projects. Your responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining and promoting a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers, adhering strictly to all safety and environmental policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Conducting site visits to identify optimal construction routes in collaboration with clients.
  • Identifying potential risks associated with projects.
  • Determining the best possible construction methodology and developing comprehensive project schedules.
  • Participating actively in estimating meetings, providing accurate rates of construction for various activities involved in high-voltage transmission projects.
  • Supporting estimating efforts by providing critical feedback on manpower, equipment, and resources required to successfully complete large-scale projects.
  • Potentially: Supervising and assisting Superintendents, General Foremen, and/or Foremen in scheduling work, crews, tools, and equipment for maximum efficiency and minimal travel time.
  • Collaborating with Project Engineers (PE’s) and Project Managers (PMs) to update project schedules.

What It Takes: Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with 345kV, 500kV, and 765kV Transmission lines.
  • OSHA 30 or other recognized safety training course.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license for the type(s) of vehicles which may be driven, and an acceptable driving record as determined by the Michels Review Team.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office Suite.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Significant experience in the construction of 765kV high voltage transmission projects.
  • Ability to work with advanced computer software.
  • Experience in estimating large projects in terms of both value and duration.

Expected Salary Range

$140,000—$193,000 USD

This range reflects anticipated base salary based on current market data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Actual pay will be adjusted based on individual’s skills, experiences, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
