Detailed Job Description:

As an Area Manager, you will be entrusted with comprehensive responsibility for your assigned sales territory, focusing on both development and strategic growth. Your primary duties will include:

Territory Ownership & Strategic Development:
• Take full ownership of a designated geographical sales territory, serving as the primary point of contact and growth driver.
• Develop and implement strategic plans to identify, cultivate, and expand business with both independent accounts and regional chain customers.
• Responsible for achieving and exceeding budgeted sales and profit objectives, requiring a strong understanding of market dynamics, competitive landscapes, and financial performance metrics.
• Conduct thorough market analysis to identify untapped opportunities and potential areas for market penetration.

Customer Relationship Management & Sales Cycle Execution:
• Proactively and regularly call on existing customers to nurture relationships, understand evolving needs, ensure satisfaction, and identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
• Systematically pursue and call on potential customers (prospects), conducting lead generation, qualification, cold outreach, and compelling product presentations to successfully convert them into loyal clients.
• Act as a trusted advisor, understanding customer challenges and providing tailored solutions that showcase the value of our products.

Business Planning & Execution Excellence:
Develop and execute comprehensive business plans specifically tailored to your assigned territory. These plans will outline clear sales goals, strategic marketing initiatives, customer acquisition tactics, and efficient resource allocation.
• Monitor progress against plan, analyze performance data, and adapt strategies as needed to ensure consistent achievement of objectives.

Resource & Time Management:
• Demonstrate exceptional time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks efficiently, schedule customer visits strategically, and manage travel logistics effectively.
Effectively manage resources, leveraging all available company tools and support (e.g., CRM systems, marketing materials, technical support) to maximize productivity and attain superior results.

Brand Advocacy & Product Promotion:
• Act as a passionate brand ambassador, actively building business through unwavering support of company branded products.
• Develop and maintain deep product knowledge, effectively articulating unique selling propositions (USPs) and benefits to customers, thereby enhancing market share and brand loyalty.

Financial Acumen & Compliance:
Manage pricing strategies within established guidelines, engaging in effective negotiation to secure profitable deals.
Monitor credit term compliance for all accounts, collaborating closely with finance departments to ensure healthy financial relationships and mitigate risks.

Required Qualifications:

To be successful in this pivotal role, you will need:

Education: A High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent is required, demonstrating fundamental literacy, numeracy, and general knowledge.
Experience: A minimum of 6-12 months of direct sales/marketing and/or restaurant experience.
Sales/Marketing Experience: Demonstrates a foundational understanding of sales processes, customer communication, lead generation, and promoting products or services.
Restaurant Experience: Provides invaluable insight into the food service industry, customer service excellence, operational challenges, and potentially an existing network or understanding of the target customer base. This experience is highly relevant for understanding client needs and building rapport.
Licensing: A Valid Driver’s License is essential, as consistent travel within the assigned geographical sales territory will be required to meet with existing and prospective customers. A clean driving record is preferred.
