About the Role:

Kitty Hawk Kites is seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals for our 2026 Hospitality Management Internship. This unique opportunity offers a chance to live and work on the beautiful Outer Banks, gaining invaluable experience in adventure recreation and retail while contributing to a company that has been “teaching the world to fly” since 1974.

This is a non-management internship position within the Kitty Hawk Kites Department, lasting a minimum of 12 weeks.

Key Job Duties:

  • Exceptional Customer Service: Provide outstanding service across all channels, including in-person, email, phone calls, text messages, and online chats.
  • Recreational Program Expertise: Develop a comprehensive understanding of all recreational offerings provided by Kitty Hawk Kites.
  • Reservations System Management:
    • Monitor and manage multi-line telephone and voicemail systems for reservations.
    • Ensure all reservation systems are fully functional and properly integrated.
    • Maintain the reservations system with accurate schedules and current offerings.
    • Proactively diffuse and resolve any customer relations issues related to reservations.
  • Adventure Program Sales & Promotion: Utilize excellent telephone etiquette and customer service skills to effectively promote, inform customers about, and make sales of adventure programs.
  • Staff Support: Assist in the scheduling and coaching of Reservations staff.
  • Special Projects: Undertake other projects as assigned to support the team and operations.
